When envisioning virtual reality, one might picture the cinema of the future: slipping on goggles to enter an infinite, interactive world. At the forefront of this media evolution is Studio Immersief, a team blending traditional theatre with VR, AR, and gaming technologies. When they approached us for a rebrand, the instinct was to focus on technology. However, Studio Immersief's roots are grounded in theatrical storytelling—a centuries-old art form. This prompts the question: what is the first immersive world we all recognize? The diorama. First appearing in the 1830s, the diorama—a three-dimensional display box—transported viewers to new realms, just as Studio Immersief does today. This concept inspired their new identity and website, translating the traditional rectangle diorama box into a motion-led logo, bold colour palettes, perspective-warping typography, and a visual language that embraces 3D perspectives within a 2D environment.
